This just in! The new opening date for Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan has been revealed. Universal announced today that Super Nintendo World will officially open next week on March 18!

The theme park’s official website reads:

Although the grand opening was previously scheduled for February 4, 2021, and was later delayed, Guests were able to experience Super Nintendo World during a soft opening beginning January 18, 2021. Since then, we have been able to see full tours of the new Nintendo video game-themed land, witness some of the most beloved characters come to life, and read reactions from fans online who had the opportunity to ride Mario Kart in real life for the very first time at the Universal Studios Japan theme park.

A new large-scale theme area “Super Nintendo” that reproduces the world of Nintendo’s characters and games, which Japan is proud of in the world, in the real world with overwhelming scale and quality by using the innovative ideas of Universal Studios and the world’s latest technology.
Super Nintendo World is a theme park land unlike any we have seen before. It truly transports Guests into the world of Nintendo where they can encounter some of their favorite Mario characters and experience attractions that do not currently exist at any other Universal theme par (at least, not yet).
Many fans are thrilled to know that Super Nintendo World will soon come to Universal theme parks in the United States. We continue to wait for more updates about Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe, the third theme park coming to Universal Orlando Resort in Florida in 2025. Additionally, we have updated our website with the construction progress on the smaller version of the Nintendo-themed land coming in the future to Universal Studios Hollywood, although an opening date has not yet been announced.
