Indian streaming platform Loco has announced to team up with Activision Blizzard to jointly host Call of Duty Mobile event in the country, and the tournament is set to carry a prize pool of whopping ₹35 lakh!
Released on 1st October last year on Android and iOS, Call of Duty Mobile has become one of the fastest-growing multiplayer FPS titles on mobile, with clocking more than 172 million worldwide downloads two months after its release.
Even in India, the game has seen significant growth following the ban of the super-popular PUBG Mobile and now will see its first event in the country being hosted by Activision Blizzard in partnership with streaming platform Loco, which is owned by digital entertainment company Pocket Aces.
The Call of Duty Mobile event will comprise of two tournaments- Call of Duty Mobile India Cup Open and Call of Duty Mobile India Cup Pro and both will be streamed live on Loco. Both tournaments together have a total prize pool of ₹35 lakh.
Currently, registrations for the Call of Duty Mobile India Cup Open tournament is underway. CODM teams across the country can sign up for the open qualifier, which will be hosted in a 5v5 format. The total prize pool for the India Cup Open tournament is ₹10 lakh, split into ₹5 lakh for the winners and the rest distributed among teams ranking from 2nd to 8th spot.

16 teams from the open tournament will be qualifying for the Call of Duty Mobile India Cup Pro, which will be held in a league system where the qualified teams will be facing off the top pro Call of Duty Mobile teams from India in the same 5v5 format. Team Mayhem and Team IND are two of the top pro teams from the country who have been invited.
The total prize pool for the India Cup Pro will be ₹25 lakh. The winning team will receive ₹10 lakh and the 1st and 2nd runner ups will pocket ₹5 lakh and ₹3 lakh respectively.
